Hot on Your Heels!

Waveney Light Opera Group are excited to announce their Spring 2025 production, “Hot on Your Heels!" (Imagine “Some Like It Hot” meets "Hi-De-Hi!"). This original musical comedy, by local writers Ian Cook and Ian Newton, is set in 1959 London and follows Jack, a ballcock factory worker with dreams of becoming the next Elvis. When Jack's brother Eddie arranges an audition at 'Zavaroni’s' nightclub, run by former gangster Len Zavaroni, Jack meets Len’s God-daughter Terri, and they instantly connect. But after overhearing a conversation between Zavaroni and his bodyguard, Eddie mistakenly believes a hit has been ordered on them, leading the brothers to flee to Muffingham's Holiday camp, Margate. There, they seek refuge with their cousin Barbara, a singer in an all-girl holiday camp trio. With one group member missing, Jack is roped into joining the act as Jackie, while Eddie takes on the role of a Yellowcoat. Just when the brothers think they’re safe, Terri arrives at the camp to perform, confiding in "Jackie" (Jack in disguise) about her feelings for Jack. Will Jack continue the charade or reveal his true identity, risking everything? There’s only one way to find out.
