Ilisha Thiru Purcell: 24 hour challenge

: A commission for this brilliant artist to create a short piece in reaction to our Hope is a 4 Letter Word by Gobscure in 24 hours! What’s she going to create? Ilisha Thiru Purcell is a poet from Newcastle upon Tyne. She is one of the three poets in the inaugural Poets of Colour Incubator (2023/4) and was a Young Creative Associate with New Writing North. Ilisha performed at the 2023 Newcastle Poetry Festival and her work has appeared in publications such as Butcher’s Dog and Bi+ Lines Anthology. She is part of the group Brown Girls Write. I've been in the audience of lots of Alphabetti shows and I've been consistently impressed with the range and creativity so I'm looking forward to getting involved and the challenge of creating a response piece in only 24 hours.
