Welcome to this screening at Landmark of Emanuel Almborg´s 2013 film "The Majority Never Has Right On Its Side".

The screening takes place on the ocassion of our current exhibition with Jef Geys in the main galleries. The exhibition is open this Thursday from 17:00 - 20:00 before the screening (welcome : )

"The Majority Never Has Right on its Side", 2013, is a film about the Summerhill School in England, established in 1921 and still open. The school is known for its anti-authoritarian pedagogy built on the egalitarian principles of A.S. Neill, a socialist schoolmaster from Scotland often described as a “cynical utopian”. The film looks at the school today in relation to its “image” by using the school’s own film and video archive.

Emanuel Almborg is an artist based in Stockholm and London. His practice is primarily moving image-based and has developed through an engagement with pedagogy, developmental psychology and drama. His films often draw on research into the history of schools and institutions and deal with the relation between theory into practice. He finished the Whitney Independent Study program in New York, 2015 and is currently a PhD candidate at The Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm (KKH). His work has recently been shown at Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Whitechapel Gallery, London and Cell Project Space, London.
