It’s been One Hundred years since the premiere of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue on 12th February 1924. This groundbreaking work of the twentieth Century helped change the face of classical and popular music. Join Worbey and Farrell to mark the centenary of this iconic work and to celebrate their own twentieth year of performing all over the globe together in over 120 countries. On this occasion you’ll hear this musical gem in its rawest form with both the solo and orchestral parts all performed with Four hands on a Steinway Grand piano. Hear its fascinating story and how it actually almost didn’t happen! The varied programme will also include Worbey and Farrell's Variations on John Lennon's Imagine, Prokofiev’s family favourite - Peter and the Wolf (with a refreshingly happy ending), Shostakovich’s haunting Jazz Waltz and Addinsell's Warsaw concerto.
