Richmondshire Orchestra will be under starter’s orders for a special ‘Olympics 2024’-themed concert, featuring music by composers from countries ranking top in the 1924 Paris Olympics medal table.
Representing France on what will be ‘Bastille Day’ we have Offenbach’s Overture to ‘Orpheus in the Underworld’, with its quintessential Can Can; from the USA, Gershwin’s ‘American in Paris’ and from Italy, Rossini’s ‘William Tell’ Overture.
Meanwhile, what concert dedicated to the Olympic Games would be complete without the iconic theme to Vangelis’ British film ‘Chariots of Fire’?

The Cafe will be open from 2pm until the end of the interval for cakes, drinks & snacks only. Please note this is on a walk-in basis only, so there is no need to book a table in the Café on this date.
The Bistro will be open, serving Sunday lunch from 12noon-4pm. Booking is strongly advised for the Bistro.
