Details

Trio Paradis bring a new series of Café Concerts to the Athenaeum on the first Friday afternoon of each month (except January) at 3.00pm: informal music events in the community, with a pop-up café where you can meet friends for a chat after the concert.

Trio Paradis are a versatile ensemble, performing a variety of styles of music brought together in a themed programme.

May’s concert is a collection of music by English composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, among them Charles Villiers Stanford, Frank Bridge, Ernest Austin and Alice Verne-Bredt.

Our first concert at the Athenaeum will be upstairs in the First Floor Function Room. Tickets are free, with pay-what-you-feel donations invited.

However, BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL for this concert as the venue has limited capacity. Please book on this website, reserving the exact number of free tickets you require.

The concert lasts around 45mins and entrance (or rather, exit!) is by donation, with a retiring collection. Refreshments - tea, coffee and home-made cakes - are on sale in the bar after the concert.

There is plenty of parking in the Civic Centre - charges apply. There is a pedestrian walkway leading to the zebra crossing on the High Street opposite the Athenæum. The central bus station and railway station are within walking distance.
