Three bags full by Jerome Chodorov

"A bright French farce from Jerome Chodorov (“Wonderful Town,” “My Sister Eileen”), based on the play by Claude Magnier. The plot follows rich merchant Bascom Barlow as his evening is disrupted after he finds himself snookered into being a matchmaker for two daughters, one the child of his wife and the other the maid's offspring. A larcenous employee who has embezzled half a million dollars offers to return it for a managerial position and the daughter's hand. Half of the loot is in diamonds and half is in cash and stashed in separate but identical bags. At the same time the maid decides to leave and by a strange twist of fate, has packed her belongings into a third identical bag. This triggers a hilarious series of mistaken identities, coincidences and revelations as Barlow tries desperately to come out on top."
