Details

TS4 – The Tony Strickland Quartet – are a band hard to categorise.

Their music is high energy and very danceable, and has elements of jazz and punk, so people say. Occasionally it is slightly sinister.

If King Crimson were to rescue the Beach boys from the Addams Family they would listen to this.

TS4 are a new wave progressive rock band from Belfast comprised of three men in their early forties (ha ha) and a funky sax player who are, in their own words, ‘having a blast’. Punk knocked prog off the top spot a bit too early, they reckon, and it’s time to settle the score.

Citing a ‘bit of Crimson and early Tom and Jerry cartoons’ as musical influences, they are -

Colin Reid, guitarist, electric not acoustic (composer The Third Policeman, Eddi Reader Band)

Keith Waterson - mild mannered gentleman bass player Seonaid Murray on sax and Tony Strickland’s Hat
