Michael harbours an ambition to direct Macbeth and he gets the chance with the autumn production of ‘The Shellsfoot Thespians’. But it soon appears that the ‘curse’ of Macbeth extends to amateur theatre – and to Michael. With difficulties casting, an egotistical leading lady, bribes and affairs, will Michael get the show on, and at what cost?
