With their mother now busy writing to earn money, the railway becomes a source of fascination and solace to the children.

They make friends with Perks the Porter and his lively brood of children, and discover new and exciting things about the trains. However, mystery remains - where is their father? Will he return to them? This charming story deals sensitively with the subject of an absent parent, and the challenges of living in changing circumstances. The lively characters that feature in the story have stood the test of time and we are delighted to bring-alive this stage adaptation for our latest production.
