Set in a totalitarian police state, an extremely dark and gruesome fictional writer – Katurian - is arrested in connection to multiple child murders closely resembling her work. Despite her innocence, Katurian’s mentally challenged brother is tortured for a confession. The only story of Katurian’s that will comfort him is ‘The Pillowman’: a large creature made of pillows who convinces young children to commit suicide before they live out their horrible miserable lives…
