The Lovenotes and Jim & Nancy

Lovenotes are a well-known four -piece women’s acapella group of over two decades standing.Faith Watson and Rose Hodgson are familiar as local (and national) choir and workshop leaders and the musical projects of Katherine Watson and Jules Gibb create delight in many arenas. Lovenotes are famous for their gorgeous and unusual arrangements and their feel-good engagement with audiences.Expect some familiar jazzy numbers with a twist, self-penned songs, old favourites and new arrangements. Expect humour as well as contemplation and maybe a chance to sing along. Clearly this group love what they are doing and it’s impossible not to be swept along on their musical adventure. Since they started out in 2022 Jim and Nancy have been attracting attention wherever they go. They have had many radio plays on National and Local radio in this country and in Ireland. Jim’s poignant arrangement of Joy Division’s’ Transmission, suited Nancy’s breath-taking voice so well that Peter Hook invited Nancy to sing it on stage with him in London and Manchester. Since then these two young people have been enjoying re-arranging songs they both love.
