Ben Holder's ‘Hotclub’ Four

Fizzingly fast and furious with bluesy harmonic edginess - a dream band! Ben Holder [https://www.benholdermusic.co.uk] really is an unrivalled talent on the violin playing jazz. Of course, his ability to perform jazz at breakneck speeds with an accuracy and articulation that defies belief, stems partly from a rigorous classical training. However, at the tender age of 13 ben was already experimenting with jazz improvisation, spurred on by listening first to Benny Goodman and later of course the maestro violinist Stephane Grappelli. Ben will have one of his favourite line-ups in tow for this show, featuring the talents of guitarists Jez Cook and Ducato Piotrowski and of course long time collaborator bassist Paul Jefferies. The ‘Hotclub’ in the title refers to the music that took the 1930s jazz world by storm and 'created' by Stephanie and the great guitarist Django Reinhardt. Music that spilled out of bars and clubs throughout Paris and made the two pioneers household names - perhaps for eternity.
