Partyman. Symbol. Sexy MF. Join The Belfast Groove Line in celebrating the life and legacy of Prince Rogers Nelson in the Empire Music Hall this August. Fusing rock, funk and soul while bending both gender and genre, Prince defied any attempts pigeonhole his prolific work. A self-taught virtuoso, Prince spent his career pushing boundaries, both with his band, solo and as a writer and mentor for other artists that shared his vision, including Chaka Khan and Sinead O’Connor. 1984’s Purple Rain was both a multi-platinum album and an Oscar winning feature film, defining the Prince brand, as well as giving us the evergreen title-track. The Belfast Groove Line’s Prince celebration follows on from the wildly successful Niles Rogers theme night, featuring all your favourite songs from the golden era of the 80’s, including When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette, Alphabet Street and, of course, Purple Rain. We will be positively encouraging everyone to dress up in their very finest 80’s gear, with a very special prize for the winner. All live, all Prince, all night long.
