“Welcome, listeners. It’s wonderful to see so many faces today. Curious, about the legends of old are you? It’s nice to know our stories are still of interest to the new generations. My name is Naomhán. Please, come take a seat around the campfire while I guide you through this tale. Can you hear it? The whispering of legends, the ghosts of campfire stories, drift through the air… Can you feel the presence of myths and magic? … I think we’re ready to begin..” - The Ghosts of Campfire Stories is a play written and produced by Crimson Tea Productions featuring music written by Erutan (Kate Covington). It is based upon old legends of The Sea Maiden of Kessock - a tragic tale of a Ceasg - as well as the myth of the Kelpie of Loch Ness; the Origin Story of Nessie. As the Scots legends tell their almost forgotten tales, Thor and Loki share their own stories from times long past. And a creature, born of Norse myth and Scots combined, surfaces to delve into their own story. The Ghosts of Campfire Stories highlights the importance and history of Norse mythos in Scotland as well as our own old tales. With some mildly distressing themes, mild language and scenes of mild threat, Crimson Tea Productions has rated the play as suitable for all audiences with parental supervision.
