The Creation

Buckingham Choral Society are delighted to present the great oratorio The Creation by Joseph Haydn with the Orchestra of Stowe Opera at the church of St Peter & St Paul, Buckingham, on Saturday 3 December 2022. The Creation is considered by many to be one of Haydn's masterpieces. It depicts and celebrates the creation of the world as described in the Book of Genesis. With its effortless fusion of the popular and the 'sublime, the innocent and the sophisticated, the oratorio appealed to its audience since its first performance.
