Details

Originally from Macclesfield but now based in Gloucestershire, Alex graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2017, studying performance art and popular music. Since then he has worked across many genres and with a wide range of artists, including the MD of Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club James Pearson, vocalists Mick Wilson (10cc), Lance Ellington (Strictly Come Dancing), Matt Ford (John Wilson Orchestra) and Capital Voices. He also works regularly with the CBSO and Hallé orchestras across a variety of styles including West End/Abba/Nashville/Bond themed shows and was thrilled to perform the iconic Bond theme in recent film with live orchestra screenings of both Casino Royale and Skyfall in Manchester and Harrogate.

Alex is also a frequent performer in smaller local venues. He is a passionate advocate for blues music and loves to bring his twist on both traditional and modern to new and community-based audiences. He regularly accompanies pianist and arranger Robin Smith in venues across Gloucestershire, giving performers of all ages an opportunity to showcase their talents, most frequently at Chapel Arts in Cheltenham and The Guildhouse at Stanton.

Alex is a passionate music educator and whilst still in Leeds he supported visually imparted young musicians at Junior College and taught in schools across the city for ArtForms. After moving south, he was invited to tutor on Peter Gill's Rock Schools, the Everyman Youth Theatre summer school in Cheltenham and enjoys teaching private pupils alongside creating bespoke music packages for primary schools in his community who are without specialist provision.
