The Southbank Centre’s schools team hosts you for a drinks reception, an introduction to the exhibition by a curator and an evening viewing of Strange Clay: Ceramics in Contemporary Art. The event begins in the Dan Graham Waterloo Sunset Pavilion in the Hayward Gallery Cafe with refreshments and an introduction to the exhibition from one of our curators at the gallery. We also introduce you to the different ways that you can visit the Hayward Gallery with your school. Following this, you can explore the gallery at your leisure and prepare for your next visit with your students. The Southbank Centre Schools team are on hand to support and answer any questions throughout the evening. Strange Clay: Ceramics in Contemporary Art is the first large-scale group exhibition in the UK exploring how contemporary artists have used clay in unexpected ways. Featuring 23 international artists working across recent decades, the exhibition examines the plasticity and the possibilities of ceramics.
