Yan Skates, star of Netflix’s, Big Flower Fight, will be teaching attendees all his extravagant tricks of the trade in a Still Life Exercise, ‘Plant-Eat-Man’.

Plant Eat Man: A Still Life Exercise

At the workshop, Yan will be guiding attendees through the same edible-botanical-manmade challenge that he took on himself during lockdown in 2020, inspired by Swedish designer Nicklas Hultman and his hashtag #baroqueikebana

The idea is to produce a simple creation, with an ikebana aesthetic, using something edible, something botanical and something man-made.

Workshop attendees should bring along something to use in their floral arrangements for each of these three elements. For example, a hydrangea, a pineapple and a stiletto.

There will also be a small selection of materials supplied on the night to experiment with. Yan will be on hand to guide you through your Still life journey and unleash your inner creativity. Each creation will be photographed afterwards.
