Details

Shieldhall Southampton Docks Cruise to mark Rogation Sunday. We will pass along the Port of Southampton getting close to both the Container Port and Cruise Ship Terminals, steaming past the Titanic berth and Dock Head before returning to berth 110. Pass the cruise ships and mighty container ships at close quarters.

As part of your cruise, see the impressive engine room with its original steam engines at work and the bridge, with its traditional instruments and gleaming brasswork; admire the ship’s steam assisted steering gear (similar to that used on Titanic); talk to the Captain and our volunteer crew; listen to an informed commentary on the sights and sounds of Southampton Water and the Solent; pass close to the great ocean liners and container ships; walk the teak decks; relax in the Saloon with our wide range of refreshments including tea / coffee; a range of Titanic bottled beers; wine and hot and cold food, available on all trips. Courtesy parking is available close to the berth. If you would like to join us for the early afternoon Rogation Sunday Service, please book tickets separately through Shieldhall website (£5).

Rogation Sunday will see a ‘Blessing of the Waters’ service conducted by the Lord Mayor’s Chaplain. The Rogation Sunday Service is part of the Lord Mayor of Southampton’s annual event calendar, raising money for local charities. Shieldhall will be moored alongside for the service. Tea and biscuits will be provided.
