The surprise hit of HRH Prog XI at The O2 Academy in Sheffield, Spriggan Mist are certainly making a noise on the festival scene. With charismatic singer Fay Brotherhood weaving her inimitable lead vocals over a backdrop of driven guitars, saxophones, recorders and whistles and even a crumhorn!, Spriggan Mist offer something quite different. Often billed as a pagan folk rock band, it’s always been difficult to pigeon hole ‘The Spriggs’ but since HRH Prog have found themselves labelled as Energetic Progressive Folk , injecting a fresh exciting and welcome change to the prog and festival scene. Joined by Tribal belly dancers and sword displays on stage their shows have been likened to classic Hawkwind and Arthur Brown. Spriggan Mist released their 6th studio Recorded album ‘Isambard The Mechanical Dragon’ in April to much critical acclaim.
