Spoken Word Workshop with the Loud Poets

Are you interested in learning more about spoken word poetry and trying it yourself? Join Dr. Katie Ailes and Kevin Mclean from the award-winning Loud Poets (I Am Loud Productions) for a workshop on composing and performing spoken word poetry! We’ll discuss what makes a dynamic, innovative spoken word poem and do an exercise on writing for performance. We’ll also provide practical advice on how to kick your nerves and build confidence performing live onstage, and give you the opportunity to practise at the mic. This workshop is designed for new and developing writers; no previous experience required. A great opportunity for anyone who’s interested in taking part in the Loud Poets West Slam Heat later this evening.
