Green Man, an ancient phenomenon, or the work of overzealous eccentrics.

Over the last 50 years, the Green Man has become a countercultural icon.

It was adopted by New Agers in the 1960s and 1970s, and changing attitudes towards folklore motifs recast it as an enduring alternative emblem. Whatever the Green Man is, he is incredibly persistent.

The tour starts at 11:15am on Wednesday 1st May and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

Meet inside the main visitor entrance to the cathedral, the Hostry.

Our tours primarily take place on the flat, within the cathedral and cloister, but there may be some short flights of steps as we make our way round the building. There are usually plenty of opportunities to sit down during the tour.

Tickets costs just £5.00 plus a small booking fee.
