London-born, Sodi Cookey, spent much of his childhood growing up in the creative melting pot of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Influenced by his musical parents, Sodi was a prodigy - composing and performing from age six.
In his twenties, he returned to London and began regularly collaborating with renowned musicians and producers; performing at London’s annual Jazz Festival and headlining at Vienna’s prestigious ORF RadioKulture Haus.
Expect an explosive live performance with his band - songs that celebrate love, life and protest with his powerful lyrics echoing powerful songsmiths of the past.
He takes influence from an eclectic selection of artists including Fela, Wilson Pickett, Minnie Riperton, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross and Steeley Dan. His repertoire includes Jazz standards, original Soul and Blues.
The night will include a live DJ, a dinner menu from Bite Me Burgers and a full bar.
