Details

Recitals given by selected young artists chosen for the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme are a regular feature in our annual series and never disappoint. This year we welcome the highly talented bassoonist Siping Guo from China, who brings a rich musical background and a diverse skill set to his performances. Awarded full scholarships for both his Bachelor's and Master's studies at the Royal College of Music, Siping has excelled academically and as a performer, winning prestigious awards. His artistry has been recognised in solo and ensemble performances in major venues and with notable orchestras including being guest principal with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra to which he has just been appointed principal bassoon. He is also a skilled period instrument player and has a passion for early music. Siping will be joined by award winning soloist, continuo player and chamber musician Apolline Khou who we heard last season as harpsichordist for Musique de Chambre with Luca Imperiale. Born in France, Apolline is currently the Historical Keyboards fellow at the Royal College of Music. Their programme includes works by Bach, Bozza, Saint-Saëns and Weber.
