A group of extraordinary women recreate The Great Escape, senior-citizen style.

On one dark and stormy night in the upper day room of the Silver Retirement Home, five elderly women are trading stories of their remarkable (or sometimes unremarkable) lives.

With the storm floods rising and no rescue team in sight, the ladies are faced with the sudden realisation that in order to survive they are going to have to do what they have done for their entire lives - do it themselves!

"Astute, smartly constructed twist on the comedy of old age." - The Stage

"This play beautifully displays the skills of veteran actresses..." - The Oxford Culture Review

"Some of the most touching and poignant moments had the audience in rapt but emotional silence – but this is a comedy, and they were nearly all complimented by a balancing, witty one-liner." - East Anglian Daily Times

"The play really is a celebration of older women taking to the stage." - Upstaged Manchester

"The play itself is expertly written." - Ely Standard

"Silver Lining addresses all of these with hilarity and a dash of pathos, with memorable results." - York Mix
