Forgotten enchanting compositions played by leading London musicians with animated introduction by Marina Solarek will path the way into the music and lives of Ethel Smyth - an active member of the suffragettes, Fanny Mendelssohn - more than just the sister of Felix Mendelssohn, Henriette Bosmans - composer of jewish heritage who lived through the nazi invasion in Amsterdam, Rebecca Clarke - one of the first female member of the Queens hall Orchestra, the romantic german composer Emily Mayer and Germaine Tailleferre - the only female member of the famous group of french composers named "les six". Is another generation growing up not finding out about the musical magic these women? There are so many female composers who have written not only huge amounts chamber music but also mountains of symphonic works. It was immensely difficult for women to get their works published during their lifetimes. The Bosmans Ensemble has dedicated itself to uncover the unjustly forgotten music by so many outstanding female composers from 18th - 20th Centuries.
