Details

Margaret Armstrong had a keen interest in natural sciences and collected and classified items with their scientific names as objects. Her most sizable collection is an assortment of seashells which is on display in the Gallery at the House.

Every Wednesday until October half term, Cragside conservation volunteers will be showing visitors how we look after these delicate objects. Stop by the cleaning table in the Gallery and see their conservation work in action. You’re welcome to ask questions and find out more about this essential and intricate work which forms part of the House’s regular conservation cleaning programme.

This activity is volunteer dependent.
