Northern banjo punks Shanghai Treason have gone from strength to strength since launching in late 2019, they’ve supported and toured with the likes of Ferocious Dog, Stiff Little Fingers, Skinny Lister, Buzzcocks and more. The band have also just completed an extensive UK tour supporting Celtic Punk legends The Rumjacks (August 2022) which they followed up by touring with Ferocious Dog (November 2022) . In March 2023 they toured the UK with Hayseed Dixie and next month (June 2023) they support the likes of From the Jam, Mad Dog Mcrea &Terrorvision, It’s all happening . They even recently opened the mainstage for Levellers at Northern Kin Festival. The bands next album lands in September 2023 and ‘Pallbearer’ is the 2nd single taken from the record (Following on from ‘The Lighthouse’ that came out earlier this year.
On Pallbearer, Singer Sam Christie said: “We’re outrageously excited for this one, it’s a deeply
personal heartfelt song about grief but is at it’s core very much an optimistic celebration of life, It’s also the first time I think the accordion has really got to shine on one of our singles, the video features live footage from our performance at Northern Kin Festival back in April”
