Separate Tables by Terence Rattigan

Details

These two one act plays work together to create a snapshot of life.

The first looks at the relationship between a journalist and his wife in the Beauregard Private Hotel in 1955.

The second is set 18 months later when a repressed young spinster offers friendship and moral support to a man posing as a retired army Major when a truth about him is exposed.

With surprisingly modern themes and storylines, Rattigan's play explores how loneliness can lead to desperation, as relevant today as when it was first written.
