THIS EVENT IS DEFINITELY GOING TO TAKE PLACE. Although the Marines will be in London for the Royal Funeral and mourning period, they have confirmed (9/9/22) that they will be back in the South West in time to take part in this concert.
HM RoRM Band Lympstone (The Commando Training Centre Royal Marines, Lympstone, Devon) is one of five Royal Marines bands based around the United Kingdom. The band of 40-50 musicians will provide a varied and mixed programme beginning with buglers and marches and ending with a grand finale. The programme will be roughly 2 hours long with a reasonable interval.
Net proceeds from this event will go to SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity which provides support for both regulars and reserves in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force and their families, including anyone who has completed National Service. They are all entitled to lifelong support from SSAFA, no matter how long they have served.
