REBECCA WING

She performed at London’s high-profile Jazz Festival in the autumn – and now you’ll get to see Rebecca Wing at one of our Café Spotlight sessions.

Rebecca is a saxophonist, vocalist, and composer from the capital, currently in her fourth year studying jazz at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She is mentored there by world-class musicians such as Sara Colman, Mike Williams, and Rebecca Nash. Since starting at the Conservatoire, Rebecca has been an active member of the Birmingham jazz scene, hosting jams and performing in and around the city with her own quintet, playing gigs in venues such as The Spotted Dog, Symphony Hall, The Warehouse Café, and at the city’s Jazz Festival at 1000 Trades in May last year.

She had her London debut supporting mentor Rebecca Nash at the EFG London Jazz Festival in November 2023 and is now working towards her first solo project Heritage, writing music and creating visuals that will be performed at Centrala at the end of March. Rebecca plays and sings arrangements and originals that compliment her bold and textural style, drawing inspiration from players such as Myron Walden and Wayne Shorter.
