Mayfield Festival Choir Mayfield School Schola Ripieno Orchestra Edvard Pogossian - Cello

We are delighted to welcome back to Mayfield cellist Edvard Pogossian who was the overall winner of the 2022 Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition.

Puccini’s Messa di Gloria was a graduation exercise, although you’d never know it. Even in his early 20s, Puccini was crafting tunes and creating drama as he later would as a mature opera composer.

Elgar, by contrast, never wrote an opera: he didn’t need to. He spent 20 years thinking about his cello concerto, which was his dramatic masterpiece.

Tickets are free for those aged 25 and under.

A 10% discount is offered if tickets are bought for 5 or more separate Festival events in a single booking - just select your seats and then 'Continue shopping '.
