It's 1999- and twenty-five-year-old Amber Da Costa vanishes without a trace from West London. A sketch of a man, last seen with her is issued but despite repeated appeals from the police, he never comes forward.

A young police officer, PC Lisa Stecklen, working on the case, believes the man in the sketch has abducted and killed her, very much to the chagrin of her superior, DI Nigel Harewood, who believes Amber has willingly eloped with the man. Amber is never found, and the case is left unsolved.
