Pride and Prejudice brings to life, Jane Austen’s wonderfully drawn characters and amusing dialogue. It is a comical portrayal of people’s foibles, set in the Autumn of c1800 and Spring of the following year. The plot revolves around the necessity of an advantageous marriage for the Bennet sisters and the lengths to which their mother will go to achieve this, in an age when women were reliant on men to provide for them. The play gives us a delightfully comic window into people’s flaws, whether it be pride, prejudice, or the many other weaknesses that we are still guilty of today.
