Poetry Workshop for Young Adults (14-18 years old) with John Blackmore

John Blackmore is a poet, singer-songwriter and postgraduate university researcher based in the South West of England. He was a semi-finalist of the 2011 BBC Young Folk Awards competition and his poems have been published on the Poetry Society website. John's writing often explores the relation between people and places, and this is also the subject of his current research.

Join him for this 2-day poetry workshop and write your own poetry based on our local countryside. John will lead Day One on site at The Strand at Lough Beg, weather permitting. This first day will see participants brainstorm and take images of the site to use as inspiration. Day 2 will be held at Seamus Heaney HomePlace, where participants will hone ideas into poems, receiving feedback from John throughout.
