Details

Ostan - an ancient Persian word for state/province - follows the lives of Kurdish refugees working in an outdoor carwash in the UK. A struggling business that, in order to survive, becomes a cover for a human smuggling racket. The play explores different cultures from the Middle East and the challenges in maintaining any cultural identity, particularly when faced with the obstacles involved in becoming 'British' in a stalled/broken immigration system.
