Opera North – Verdi, Walton, Sibelius

Drawing inspiration from the orchestral and opera work of Opera North, the Youth Orchestra will prepare and perform two programs of challenging repertoire each academic year. In December the Opera North Youth Orchestra brings its first concert of their second ever season to the Middleton Hall:

Students in the Opera North Youth Orchestra come together from across Yorkshire to rehearse in the purpose built orchestral rehearsal studios of Opera North. In this concert there will be students from Manchester, Derbyshire, Sheffield, Cardiff, Durham, York, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Leeds. They are conducted By Oliver Rundell and are mentored by mem and beyond to work together with the artistic teams of Opera North. They are mentored by members of the Orchestra of Opera North and work with Garry Walker (Music Director of Opera North) and Anthony Hermus (Guest Principal Conductor of Opera North).
