Then experience our award winning Exhibition which takes you on an inspiring exploration of Seamus Heaney’s life and literature. Let Seamus Heaney’s distinctive voice guide you through the Exhibition as you get to know the people and places that inspired him.

Grab your picnic box from HomePlace café filled with delicious treats and take it into Open Ground, a series of five locations that held great significance for Seamus Heaney. Discover places that shaped Seamus Heaney’s life and literature— Toomebridge, Magherafelt, Moyola River, Lough Beg and Bellaghy Bawn— and discover the smells, sights, and sounds that make his poetry so uniquely of this place.

Please note this is a self-drive tour. Please wear suitable clothing for Open Ground. Covid19 procedures will be in place including face coverings and social distancing. This tour must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking. Meals are set menus and drinks are not included.
