Rickmansworth Players will be performing 'Nell Gwynn' by Jessica Sweale at the Pump House Watford from the 9th to 13th May 2023 Join Rickmansworth Players in 1660's London where we will meet the hilarious and charming Nell and witness her journey from a lowly orange seller to becoming one of Britain's most celebrated actresses.

Nell Gwynn charts the rise of an unlikely heroine. Set during a time when men traditionally dominated the theatre world, Nell shows that women can equally and successfully tread the boards. Her antics catch the eye of King Charles II, and soon she is juggling life on the stage as well as the role of the king's mistress. Can Nell retain her carefree demeanor while inhabiting both these worlds, or will she have to choose?

The award-winning Nell Gwynn is a brilliantly cheeky comedy, brimming with laughs, music, and lots of double entendre. Directed by Lottie Parkyn and features a new score composed by Pete Gold. An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
