Nantwich Roots - Badly Drawn Boy plus Annie Dressner

Details

BADLY DRAWN BOY returns to Nantwich – one of the great UK songwriters of his generation, the much loved Damon Gough returns to play the festival for a second time.

His timeless songs – including songs from the smash albums “The Hour Of Bewilderbeast” and “Have You Fed The Fish” along with the classic “About A Boy” soundtrack – have lodged themselves in the nations psyche for nearly 2 decades, and with these plus new material on offer there’s never been a better time to see him ‘up close and personal’. He plays Nantwich Civic Hall on festival Friday May 17 – and his last show here sold out weeks in advance so don’t delay.

Since moving from her hometown of New York City to the UK 12 years ago, Annie has garnered rave reviews for her recordings and live performances. Her music has drawn comparisons to Mazzy Star, Jenny Lewis, and Phoebe Bridgers, and is noted for for rich storytelling, mesmerizing melodies, and lyrics that cut straight to the heart. She has received widespread support from BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music.

Her new album “I Thought It Would Be Easier” is released in April and is already being acclaimed as her strongest yet. She makes her second appearance in Nantwich, having received a rapturous reception when opening for Horse McDonald in 2017 at Words And Music.
