Mythical Creatures Of Scandinavian Folklore

Details

MYTHICAL CREATURES OF SCANDINAVIAN FOLKLORE is an illustrated entertainment lecture with Lena Schattenherz Heide-Brennand, Master of Literature - live at the Orkney Theatre.

Scandinavian Folklore consists of numerous creatures- good and evil that have fascinated and frightened the Nordic people since the creation of Ginnungagap (old Norse: "gaping abyss") and Norwegian lecturer Lena Schattenherz Heide-Brennand is now bringing them with her on tour. “Mythical Creatures of Scandinavian Folklore” is a captivating lecture where the stories will take you through the deep Scandinavian forests somewhere back in time. You will encounter the dim-witted, man-eating trolls, the cheeky nisse, the seductive huldra and the most feared legendary creature of them all: nøkken, the water spirit who plays enchanted songs on his violin, luring people to drowning in hidden ponds on those moonlit summer nights. Lena will also sing you some beautiful folksongs to truly fulfill that dreamlike, spellbinding atmosphere. Warm welcome to an evening of stories, legends, chills, and quite a few laughs. "
