There is plenty of varied scenery on this circular walk, which takes in several sections of beautiful Wye Valley woodland forming part of the National Forest for Wales, with some magnificent views down the Wye Valley and a stop at Cleddon Falls, where the stream tumbles down the steep, wooded hillside to Llandogo. The route takes you across Catbrook village green with its ancient well. Particular features on this walk are many old stone walls and stiles, plus a ruined lookout tower, dating back to the land enclosures of the 17th Century, which was apparently used to oversee French prisoners building the stone walls.
