Mother Goose is about to be thrown off her land because she cannot pay the Squire and his Bailiffs the rent. Fairy Friendship sends her Priscilla the goose, who lays golden eggs, and she becomes rich, however, she wants to be young and beautiful. She is tricked by Demon Discontent into giving them Priscilla. However, once she is made beautiful no one recognises her in the village, not even her own family. The moral of the story is beauty and wealth cannot bring you happiness.
