In support of Cancer research UK Rugby School Music Department present:
Michael Lukin and Friends Choral Concert
Join Rugby School’s flagship choir, The Temple Consort, as they sing an exciting programme of American choral music in the majestic surrounds of the Temple Speech Room, conducted by Michael Lukin. Featuring composers such as Caroline Shaw, Samuel Barber, and Eric Whitacre, along with poetry of Old Rugbeian Matthew Arnold, the programme will explore themes of the impending summer vacation: sunshine, sleep, and the great outdoors. The centre piece of the programme comprises Amy Beach’s rarely performed cantata, The Canticle of the Sun, which will highlight the School’s wonderful Bryceson organ along with a quartet of fantastic sixth form student soloists.
