Medieval Fayre

Experience vivid displays of daily activities in a medieval encampment as living history group, The Company of Chivalry, portray life in the 14th century. Visit the medieval encampment with authentic tents and fire pit, and find out how people lived and worked whilst on campaign during the 100 years’ war.

There will be a full programme of activities throughout the day including talks and demonstrations of medieval Cookery, Personal care and make-up, Archery, What a lady wore under her skirts (!), Gunpowder, Battle armour, and a variety of live music. Themed creative activities for children, plus a treasure hunt, face painting, ‘dressing up’ in medieval costume, and entertainment from wandering puppeteers.

Wander round a variety of artisan craft stalls, and enjoy a range of locally sourced hot and cold food and drink. Old Sodbury Lamb burgers, Wild Pizza Co, Paul Nutland Cheeses, savories and cakes from Harcombe Catering, Pud Puds ice cream desserts. Tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks will be available all day from the Barn Bar and Cafe, and the Three Engineers Brewery will be selling beers brewed at the Barn.

A perfect family day out at this unique heritage site which dates from 1342. Entry £5 adult, £1 child (age 3-16). Pre-book online to avoid queues on the gate (Barn website or Ticketsource).
