In her debut solo show MEDICO, Italian NHS intensive care doctor and award-winning comedian (yes, she really is both), Dr Stefania Licari offers a hysterical and moving exploration of the medical world, immigration and what it means to become British.

Following sell-out shows and critical acclaim at the Brighton Fringe, MEDICO is returning to the Museum of Comedy for three nights only ahead of its Edinburgh Festival Fringe run.

Told through the eyes of her alter-ego Dr Anna LaRosa (previously seen in online series MY DOCTOR’S ADVICE), MEDICO marries physical gags, ribald humour and true stories from the medical frontline with Stefania’s own experience as an Italian doctor in the UK. You may laugh or cry, but one thing is guaranteed: you will never look at doctors in the same way again.

MEDICO stars Stefania Licari and is co-devised and directed by Chris Head.

Stefania Licari is an actor, comedian, writer, and doctor working and living in London. As a doctor, she has been published in several well-known medical journals, has worked in large trauma centres such as The Royal London Hospital, and recently spent the COVID-19 pandemic working extensively in intensive care and in accident and emergency departments. Away from medicine, Stefania has trained at East 15 Acting School, École Philippe Gaulier, and the Grotowski Institute, and has performed on stages across the UK.
