Masterclass: Chine Collé Printmaking with Michael Waight

Join artist and master printmaker Michael Waight for a linocut with chine colléprintmaking workshop. This process is where you apply colour tones to those areas cut away from the surface of your vinyl or linoleum – changing them from the white of the paper. It’sa very exciting way to work, with thin plain or patterned coloured papers adding a different appearance to the linocut. Once a ‘relief print’ has been created, we can then experiment with ‘chine collé’ elements on our prints. This workshop is part of FOLD’s Monthly Craft Series. In May and June, we are celebrating printmaking through a variety of events to coincide with the Society of Wood Engravers 86th Annual Exhibition at the Barn - 9thMayto 29th June 2024.
