Details

Sarah Tenant-Flowers is conducting North Cotswold Chamber Choir in a concert that is exciting and unusual with music from a wide range of composers. We look forward to bringing both music and composers that may be familiar to our audiences as well as pieces and composers that may be new to them.

Jaakko Mäntyjärvi’s Canticum calamitatis maritimae, commemorating the sinking of the MS Estonia (1994) with texts drawn from the Catholic Requiem Mass, Psalm 107: "They that go down to the sea in ships..." and the Finnish Latin-Language newspaper Nuntii Latini. The music uses many different vocal effects to evoke something heart-breaking and moving.

Come with us as we journey through the seas, rivers and waters of life.
