The Rite of Spring at lunchtime. What a treat! Now acknowledged as a supreme masterpiece, the Rite caused a total riot by a furious audience when first performed in Paris in 2013 for a ballet by Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. This version for 2 pianos maintains all the rhythmic drive and percussive excitement of the orchestral version.
